For full consideration of fellowship stipends, all domestic and international applications should be submitted by the January 5th deadline and provide all of your application materials by mid-January (this applies to both domestic and international applicants). After January 5th, files will be considered for fellowship stipends based on available funding (note we have only a limited number of awards which cover non-resident tuition). All files will be considered for financial support in the form of teaching assistantships.

All students are required to take the general GRE. International students whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Minimum TOEFL scores: 550 written/213 computer.  For those international students, preference for admission and fellowships will be given to those taking and passing the Test of Spoken English (TSE) or TAST. Those international students who pass the TSE or TAST will also be eligible for additional money by serving as a part time teaching assistant.

Students with a Junior/Senior year GPA of 3.25 and General GRE score above 1100 are considered qualified for a Teaching Assistantship. Students with a Junior/Senior year GPA of 3.5 and General GRE score above 1200 are considered for our highest fellowship stipends. The quality of institution, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated ability to conduct independent research are all strongly taken into consideration.

Use the following department and institution codes when requesting your scores from ETS.

     Institution code - R4839
     GRE dept code - # 0213
     TOEFL dept code - # 45
